Museo Stradale:
MuseoStradale is a meticulously "curated" online display of elegance and speed. Like so many others, I've been wandering through car shows, camera in hand, since I was a young kid. My dad would take me to our local drive-in, the Big M, for hot rod cruise nights every Saturday, although he was always a purist when it came to sports cars and classics. I still love a great custom, but like my father I have a deep appreciation for the automobile's mechanical history, and a revery for connected driving with minimal computer hindrance. This project is a natural extension of everything the classic car enthusiast loves to indulge—beautiful design, technological precedent, racing success, and of course the frivilous minutiae only a devoted piston-head would care to know.
The photographs in this collection were taken on-site at various shows and racing events. I use a variety of techniques—there is no one, standard process—and have been refining a polished graphic arts aesthetic for many years. As I work through the hundreds of cars we've encountered, I often return to images completed in the past, updating them with new tricks so that the quality of the whole collection rises as this project matures. My images have come a long way since I first started editing them, and I hope you like what you see so far. I know there's still room for improvement, it's just finding the time to go after the next level of detail.
For the Enthusiast:
If you like this website, you'll probably enjoy the following:
• Ultimate Car Page, of all the mega-sites, is in my opinion the best resource on the internet for the automotive enthusiast. Not only are the photographs reliably good, but all of their information is written and edited in-house.
• Octane Magazine is the most enjoyable monthly read I've found. The degree to which I appreciate their efforts is borderline maniacal. As they consistently feature lucid editorials from the very best writers, detailed driving profiles of vintage race cars, and beautiful layouts of classic era greats, Octane is top shelf.
• Michael Furman's Coachbuilt Press showcases his stellar photography in the best possible form—that is, in high quality photo essays complimented by substantial text from noted automotive historians. His latter titles in particular bring new relevance to the coffee table world by providing smarts to go along with the vivid eye candy.
